The sun is coming out more often, the first spring blossoms are here, and green leaves are starting to show. It is time to pay attention to the decoration of our neglected gardens and home exteriors. We can start out easy with a small herb garden or planting some flowers. We decided to put out some small flowers to ease into the happy summer mood!
Some gardens do not let us much space to plant some new brightly coloured flowers. A terrace decoration, however, can always benefit from some new greenery. Instead of using cheap flower pots, we grabbed some nicely looking old Chinese pots normally used for interior decoration in the living room and kitchen and put some spring flowers in them! The result, as you can see below, truly gives the terrace an extra lively feel.
We created a rustic herb garden with old and weathered grey pots.
Using old weathered pots to hold delicate flowers gives a nice contrast that makes the flowers truly living decoration.
Young hyacinths will become even more beautiful when the white flowers will bloom in a small Chinese water pot!
I have to say, it even surprised me how amazing the flowers look in combination with antique clay & ceramic pots. The grey clay pots look great on a light or dark coloured terrace or on outside tables. And the willow woven baskets really are adorable filled with daisies!
Next time we feel our green thumbs itching, we plan to fill more pots with flowers. Maybe a glazed black pot filled with spring blossoms or an old white pot containing delicate roses?
I think the terrace would have never looked better than this year!
