Authentic bronze wedding stool from Lobi tribe

This beautiful bronze stool was made by the Lobi tribe in Burkina Faso. It was part of the ritual significance of the wedding night and would be offered to the bride by her husband's family. It was not for everyday use, but more as a symbol for the first born child to be seated on this stool. The stool is surmounted by two human heads  and an emphasised leg curving at the bottom.
