In general Chinese culture, ancestor veneration is common practice. It is the practice of living family members honoring their deceased loved ones because their family ties remain unbroken even after death. Paying your respects could be done at a temple or at a small altar at home. A small shrine at home could contain a family’s ancestral tablets.

This small shrine has a removable cover to protect the inner shrine with the finely decorated character Shou (longevity) in the middle. The shrine itself is beautifully decorated along the rims and remains in a very good condition.
