Old wooden moon cakes moulds

These old wooden moulds were used to hand-press traditional decorations on Asian pastries, called moon cakes. These moon cakes are sold during the yearly Chinese Moon festival to be enjoyed by friends and family or are presented as gifts to business relations. The round shape of the mooncake symbolises completeness and reunion of the family. The unity of a family is a nice symbol to have as decoration in your home, right?
