Turquoise cricket pot

€85.00 EUR

A very decorative little glazed pot. These small turquoise pots were used in China to hold a live cricket. They were kept inside by putting a thin cloth or paper over the opening that was held close by a small rope along the neck of the pot. The sound of crickets is appreciated all over Asia and a cricket in the house signifies good luck to its inhabitants. Such an interesting tale for such a small pot!

These little pots are now interesting for the decorative value in interiors and are excellent candle holders!
