Big antique basket

This large, rectangular container was used to carry grains or rice to markets in China. The basket could be balanced on a shoulder pole, hanging on its large raised handle. The removable lid was to protect the grains in storage. Years of use have given this container a weathered weathered and authentic look. Besides being decorative, this basket is still functional for storage of magazines, toys or other small objects.
