These leather pillows or neck supports were used by wealthy people on their opium beds.

Public opium dens or less wealthy opium smokers used a variety of other kinds of pillows, made of wood or earthenware. This small sized, authentic red leather pillow comes from Fujian province in China. It still has all the original lacquer and decoration. Even though the lacquer is cracked and marked by time, it is very nicely preserved. Very original as a red decorative element in the house.
